
The Lions jumped to an early lead as they led 8-0 just over two minutes into the first half on the back of 6 points from junior C.J. Gonzales. Regis quickly responded pushing the ball up the floor on offense to take over the lead and finish out the first half with a ten point lead.
The second half was back and forth but the Regis defense stood strong in the late going and the Pride held on for the thirteen point victory.
Eastern Nazarene was led by sophomore guard Aaron Johnson who scored 18 points and had 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Senior guard DeAngelo Alston scored 15 points on 4-8 shooting while dishing out 6 assists. Gonzales and John Flakes scored 13 points apiece and Flakes pulled in a team high 7 rebounds.
Contributing for the Pride was freshman Ryan Chambers with 14 points and 4 assists and Derrick Neal and Robert Edwards who scored 12 and 11 points respectively.
Eastern Nazarene will have a chance to even up their TCCC record next Thursday as they host Colby Sawyer College at 8pm. Regis will travel to conference opponent University of New England on Thursday in search of their fourth straight win. Tip off between the Pride and the Nor’easters is set for 8pm.
